1. Start
Mr. Brown started the meeting at 15:30
2. Assessment of the situation
Second global meeting in Petrozavodsk. Integration testing is in
process, and some bug fixing and implementing of optional features is
being done.
3. Discussion
3.1 Integration testing:
P-group mentioned that sometimes the loading of a PEF into the Animator
failed. A reason for that might be that the XML DTD location must be
included in the classpath. Mr. Aarniala will show the P-group how to add
the folder that contains the classpath.
According to P-group's experience on the tcpdump logs sent by Mr. Kojo,
those contain the packet exchange information corresponding to the
networking scenarios, so they can be used to validate the information
present in the PEF generated by the Analyzer and the information
visualized in the Animator. The tcpdump tool will be used to format
those logs into a human readable form that could be used during this
integration test. These logs will be printed on paper.
Mr. Kryshen will try to get extra tcpdump logs using a Windows
environment tool that could also be used for testing.
A list of bugs and fixes will be added to the CVS repository. Its
objective is that any member that notices a bug can add it to the file
and the developer or developers responsible for this code can check the
file regularly and correct the problem.
3.2 Localization
Technically the localization of the Animator module is finished, but the
translations still will take some time. The russian language translation
has priority, as P-group members are the only qualified persons to do
it. It will be done at the beginning of next week by a small team.
3.3 Code freezing date
Some date should be set as code freezing date. This issue could be
discussed in next meeting, depending on the state of the code.
3.4 Manuals and user documentation
A linux manual will be done for the Analyzer module. For the Animator
module, HTML format is preferred, and it could be accessible through the
Help buttons in the Menu bar. The official document could then contain
an installation manual.
3.5 Demonstration of the implemented software
Some skeleton of the presentation will be created in case it is needed.
The presentation may cover not only a demonstration of the software but
as well an explanation on which work methods were adopted for such a
distributed project. It seems wise that the presenter or presenters
would be russian speakers, as all english should be translated. Of
course, everyone can be asked particularly. It will be discussed in
next meeting.
3.6 Meeting with PetrSU Student Union
The actual contents or format of the meeting is not clear. It might
basically consist on meeting the Student Union leader and maybe some
foreign students as well.
4. Action points
- Get printed version of tcpdump logs.
- Continue integration testing.
- Begin bug reporting and continue fixing errors.
- Some brainstorming about the manuals can be done.
- Next meeting will be held on Monday May 10th at 15:15.
