Dacopan project MEETING MINUTES May 3rd, 2004 Meeting May 3rd, 2004, at 12:15 Department of Computer Science, State University of Petrozavodsk, Room 138 Attendance Alejandro Fernandez Rey Carlos Arrastia Aparicio Jari Aarniala, secretary Jarkko Laine Jonathan Brown, chairman Turjo Tuohiniemi, instructor Vesa Vainio Andrei Ananin Dmitry Korzun, instructor Kirill Kulakov Mikhail Kryshen Viktor Surikov Inkeri Verkamo Absent Andrei Salo 1. Start Mr. Brown started the meeting at 12:15 2. Assessment of the situation This is the first global meeting since February. Both teams have almost finished implementing their subsystems. Integration testing can start. 3. Discussion It was decided that for the duration of the H-group's stay in Petrozavodsk, a local CVS repository will be used. The contents of the repository can be transferred back to the main repository when H-group leaves Petrozavodsk. Mr. Tuohiniemi has a USB memory stick that can be used to take a backup copy of the data. P-group has finished implementation phase and is in process of finalizing their local integration today or tomorrow (May 4th). PEF files can already be output, but some problems exist. However, the integration testing of both systems can start without any "real" data from the Analyzer. P-group will divide in to two groups: one responsible for documentation and one for integration testing. Mr. Tuohiniemi pointed out that integration tests need to be specified in the test plan and their execution in the test execution document. Mr. Vainio reminded us that user interface tests are hard, if not impossible to automate so that they can be run periodically without human intervention. The Analyzer can currently print out PEFs for six different scenarios, although these scenarios are contained in only 3 separate PEF files. For H-group, implementation and integration testing can continue at the same time, but focus should be kept on good quality (i.e. testing, squashing bugs) instead of introducing new features other than those already designed. For documentation, a user manual should be written. Also, the design document should be updated to correspond the current state of design. Localization of the Animator will be done during the next two weeks. It is trivial technically, but writing the translations might require some hours' worth of work from both teams. 4. Action points - Next meeting on Thursday May 6th at 3:15pm in room 138. - Whole team should be present on Wednesday, as we can expect high-level visitors to our project room. - Start integration testing - Check the status of localization on Thursday - Planning of integration tests can start already even without PEF files by looking at the scenario -section of the requirements document. 5. End Mr. Brown ended the meeting at 13:00
