        Mr. Brown started the meeting at 12:10.

    3.A - Supervisor presentation
   
       Juha Taina visits the group as main supervisor. He gives us hints 
       about his role in the project (supervising visits and consulting), 
       about some of its goals and about the special issues of this project, 
       due to its distributed nature, such as communication with the other 
       group and trips.

    3.B - Assignment of roles

       * Group leader/manager: Jonathan Brown.
       * Educational specialist: Vesa Vainio.
       * User interface coordinator: Vesa Vainio.
       * Code manager: Jari Aarniala.
       * Project secretary: Carlos Arrastia.
       * Quality assurance person/testing: Alejandro Fernández.
       * Documentation coordinator: Jarkko Laine

      The main aspect of the role distribution is that everybody should be 
      more a coordinator of the others in his task. Everybody will do all 
      the tasks and each of us will pay more attention on one of these aspects. 
      Anyway the roles are not fixed until the software process will go further. 
      The minute meeting task will probably be rotating among the members 
      of the group.

    3.C - Presentation of tools

      Jarkko presented LaTex, that we think would be a powerful tool for 
      documentation.
      
      Jonathan and Turjo spoke about CVS, Carlos had read about it also, 
      intended for controlling of document versions.
  
      Jari introduced us to Wiki, for web presentation of our work.

       
4. Action points

      None in particular, as we have next meeting with the University 
      of Petrozavodsk group just afterwards. Next meeting of University of 
      Helsinki group on its own will be held on thursday 29.01 at 8h in C476.
