1. Start

    Mr. Vainio started the meeting at 8:19 

2. Assessment of the situation

    The implementation phase continues and some new issues have to be discussed
    Mr. Aarniala commited to the cvs some sections for the animator into the CVS
    and the rest of the members continue coding and refining some components of
    the animator.

3. Discussion

    3.1 Localization

    A combination between the two approaches for localization presented
    by Mr. Vainio will be used.

    1. Have the localized resources be a dictionary-like thing, where you ask
    for a localized version of just a string, for example
    LocRes.getLocalized("Application").

    2. Hardcode some information about protocols, layers, fields etc in the
    relevant classes, and they would get the localized version from the
    localisable resources class according to predefined resource IDs, like
    LocRes.getLocalized(LocRes.LAYER_APPLICATION).

    Use ResourceBundle that consists in static methods to look for static
    properties fields in the classpath. Mr Vainio will create a wrapper
    class to manage with it.

    This class will provide a list with the available languages. A properties
    file with the available languages should be added as well.

    The animator will check for the default locale of the environment in which
    is running to select the startup language. In case that language is not
    available the default language will be 'english'.

    3.2 XML

    The read/writing of the XML for the scenarios uses an external java library
    called XStream. Mr. Aarniala has to check if this the licence library is
    compatible with the GPL.

    3.3 Saving Scenarios

    Some issues about the note manager were presented to the group and discussed.
    Mr Arrastia will review the presented code and continue working on it.

    Mr Aarniala will continue working on this area to refine the current code
    and come up with new ideas and solutions.

    3.4 UI

    The possibility of adding a menu bar to the animator should be studied.
    This menu bar could contain language selection.
